SPACEibs was called in to help improve the storage facilities at Outwood Academy Lofthouse Gate Primary School.
However, it soon became apparent that their was a much wider issue – the school needed to utilise floor space more effectively, creating enough space for both storage and offices.
SPACEibs visited the school to ascertain the works needed but while there discovered that the previous contractors had not removed the roof and covered it over with a new one. Always with health and safety in mind, SPACEibs explained that moving supporting walls would affect the roof support. Concluding that only the stud walls could come out in accordance with building regulation SPACEibs set about taking the stud walls out of two classrooms. All affected areas of damage were made good, electrical contractors re-wired where necessary and fitted new lights to areas affected. Finally a new carpet was laid.
Once again the whole project was assigned to a personal project manager, whose knowledge and experience provided invaluable expertise in solving the Academy’s issues. All work was undertaken at the school’s convenience – within school holidays and in nine days.
